I’m Laura. I’m a wife, a mom of two (don’t mind the old photo above), and a semi-vegetarian. Our family picked up and moved to the Lynchburg, VA area in 2013 back. Depending on the month, I’m either ultra dedicated or completely lazy about fitness. I’m always on a budget, and I’m a total germophobe. I’ve tried pretty much every diet out there, and here’s what works best for me: No hard and fast rules, just an overall goal of health and wellness. Many of my recipes are Whole30 or Paleo compliant, and that’s because I truly believe in balance and doing what works for you. We feel our best when I eat clean, so that’s how we eat (most of the time).
I really love food. I love to cook it, eat it, and serve it. I try to eat as much organic, local, healthy, and unprocessed ingredients as I can… although I definitely have to have french fries and cookies every now and then! I refuse to spend tons of money on fancy gadgets and appliances – in fact, my kitchen is a fairly standard apartment set up. No bells, no whistles. I definitely don’t cook food with ingredients you can’t pronounce and can’t find in a typical market. I guess I’m just your run of the mill mom and home cook!
